Hi, I'm Andrew Mugoya

I am an innovation, solution design and product development consultant. I work with entrepreneurs, startups and innovation departments to adopt and leverage cutting-edge technology to solve problems.

Most recently I was Head of Technical Solutions at Smart Pension, a global Fintech. Previously, I founded a creative agency in London and a software development house in Kenya, helping clients all over the world to design and develop solutions using technology and digital products. Prior to that I worked in technology at JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Barclays, developing and delivering software solutions and innovation projects.

I studied Computer Science at Oxford University (MSc) and Warwick University (BEng, First Class Honours). I have also taught as a part-time lecturer at Strathmore University in Kenya.

FAILURES & WEAKNESSES

warning  Getting into entrepreneurship highly unprepared. No amount of research would have changed the challenges but less hubris and more humility would have helped.

paid  Chasing trends and developing some products for completely wrong reasons rather than for passion or solving customer problems.

schedule  Giving up on some products I've developed too quickly. I could have had more persistence and patience.
